St. Paul Service & Fellowship Groups

The following is a list and brief description of service and fellowship organizations at St. Paul. We welcome your attendance at any of these organizations.

St. Paul Ladies Guild - Women gathered together to fulfill the ministry God intended for His people. Membership is open to all ladies of the congregation. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month (alternating afternoon and evening, September through June.) Ministries include support to all charitable endeavors, promotion of the LWML (national Lutheran Women's Missionary League), Christian fellowship and advancing the welfare of our St. Paul Church by personal service and gifts.

SPY's (St. Paul Youth) - Membership is open to all high school students in grades 9-12. The purpose is to encourage and support youth in their personal and spiritual growth. Events include retreats, Bible study, attending youth conventions and many more activities.

Couples in Christ - This group provides Christian fellowship for married couples. Couples in Christ meets monthly for family events and service projects.

Altar Guild - Any woman of the congregation is welcome to be a member. Duties of the Altar Guild are caring for the altar and sanctuary, washing the communion vessels after the service and the delivery of flowers to shut-ins.

Chancel Choir - Open to any interested individual who enjoys music. The chancel choir sings for two or three Sunday services each month. Rehearsals are on Thursdays from 6:30pm - 7:45pm and are held at the Central Site. Our purpose is to provide a core music ministry through a variety of musical styles. We welcome new members to the group at any time.

Sounds of Joy - Anyone with singing or musical talents is welcome. The group usually sings for one church service a month and occasionally for special events. Practice is once a month before the Sunday we sing. The purpose of this group is to provide a contemporary musical ministry.

Praise Chorus - Anyone is welcome to be a part of this chorus. Praise chorus sings at the Contemporary Service at 6:00pm on Saturday evenings at the Northwest Site. Practices are held once a week.

Adult Handbell Choir - The Adult Handbell Choir rehearses four evenings per month and performs at one service every month alternating at both the Central and Northwest Site. Experience is not necessary; skills will be taught to everyone!

Lutherans for Life - Lutherans for Life is an organization through which Lutherans unite to give a common witness within the church and society to their concerns for the value and dignity of all human life. The Rockford Chapter is open to all members of the Lutheran community and strives to provide information to local congregations.

MYCA (Ministry for Young Christian Adults) - MYCA is a Christ centered ministry for young adults through group Bible Studies, regular fellowship social activities and service projects. It provides an opportunity for Rockford area single Christians to grow in their faith.
